Austin-based artist Le Destroy (Kristina Olson) delivers a bold, genre-defying debut with Trashumanism (May 31, 2024). The album critiques society’s technological regression, exploring themes of consumerism, feminism, body autonomy, and digital overreach through a fusion of industrial rock, electronic, and punk influences.
“With all our technology and awareness, we should be evolving—but instead, division is growing,” says Le Destroy.
Produced by Danny Lohner (Nine Inch Nails) and featuring Josh Freese on drums, Trashumanism is both gritty and cinematic, drawing inspiration from The Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, Prince, Madonna, and Garbage. Tracks like “Me vs. You” challenge judgment culture, “Autonomy” defends biological freedom, and the title track satirizes consumer excess and instant gratification.
With a background in both science (UC San Diego, Earth Science) and music, Olson has collaborated with Forest Whitaker, composed for Lakeshore Records, and contributed to the Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack alongside Run The Jewels, HEALTH, and SOPHIE.
“Le Destroy captures the feel of a dark future where anything is possible.” – Charlie Clouser (Nine Inch Nails, Saw)
